The X6 model is Nokia’s very first capacitive touchscreen music phone. It was first released with a 32GB internal storage capacity. Later, a second version was released with 16GB. Now, Nokia has made it possible for more people to own the X6 at an even lower price with Nokia X6 8GB.

Pros

The X6 8GB is sold at a lower price than the other X6 releases. With this mobile phone, you can get all the goodies of the X6 and pay less for it. Fast web browsing and messaging, music and other multimedia applications are right within your reach.

Unlike other Nokia series where the features of the original models are downgraded or completely scrapped in an effort to reduce the market price, the X6 8GB is not at all far off from the original model. In fact, the only cut made here is in the internal memory – and it is not an unfortunate compromise at all since 8GB is still a large capacity.

It has a wide touchscreen that is an advantage when browsing the Net. The screen resolution is also impressive at 360 x 640 pixels.

It has a very good 5MP Carl Zeiss camera.

Some might view the reduction of the memory to be a disadvantage, but more people are already satisfied with 8GB.

Cons

The X6 8GB doesn’t have any feature upgrades or additions at all. Other than the reduced price, there is not much that can sway customers into buying the more expensive X6 32GB or 16GB if they have the money.

The sharp edges and rectangular shape makes it quite bulky and difficult to conveniently tuck into a jeans pocket.

Although the operating system used (Symbian^1 S60) is good enough for the X6 functions, it is still considered as an inferior OS when compared to the rest of the competition.

Summary

In essence, there is no difference between the X6 8GB and the original X6, save for the diminished internal memory capacity. This should not be a big issue though, since with 8GB you can still input lots of songs and albums and have enough space left for pictures and inbox. As a plus, the reduced price tag (US$285 from 16GB’s US$317)) of the X6 8GB will also be a better match for anyone’s budget.
