Nokia C6-01

Announced during the Nokia World Expo and released in November 2010, the Nokia C6-01 is the most recent addition to the C-series touchscreen smartphones. As with the C7, the C6-01 is also ideal for social networking fans. It offers a complete package of multimedia applications, besides the standard web browsing and email and text messaging commonly offered by smartphones.

Pros

The C6-01 is every bit professional looking. Aside from its looks, it also has the applications and features that business professionals need in order to keep up with their work (i.e. document viewing programs, web browsing, instant messaging).

User reviews cite C6-01 to be an improvement from the slider C6-00 smartphone. The former runs on Symbian^3 OS, upgraded from the latter’s Symbian S60 5th edition.

With this OS, the C6-01 is capable of multitasking. Users can customize multiple homescreens and enjoy 3G-supported Internet surfing.

The camera apparatus is excellent at 8 megapixels. It also allows forward-facing image capture, aside from the usual backward-facing captures.

It has WebTV support and Ovi Music/Ovi Suite.

The touchscreen has a ClearBlack feature that lessens reflectivity when the phone is used under bright lighting.

This model is also lighter on the wallet, as far as smartphones go. Upon its release, the C6-01 was tagged with a €260 (or US$334.00) price.

Cons

Even though C6-01 was built to host OVI Music, this privilege is not yet available for US customers.

Its small size might be an advantage in terms of manageability, but this also results to a smaller screen size, which in turn cramps the onscreen QWERTY keyboard.

For people who are fond of ultra-thin devices, the C6-01 will appear quite thick at 14mm.

Summary

The Nokia C6-01 possesses the best features of a smartphone. Its price tag is very affordable, considering the fact that it is a high quality smartphone. Its multiple functions make it an appropriate smartphone for professionals who stay in touch with the latest and trendiest in both the cyber and digital worlds.
