Nokia C3-01 Touch and Type

The Nokia C3-01 is designed for email and social networking uses. It has an economical design and has a practical appearance, but it is nevertheless sophisticated to look at. It is made from 100% stainless steel, which gives it a polished look.

The Nokia C3-01 was released last September 2010. Its name is sometimes shortened by reviewers to Nokia C3 Touch and Type.

Pros

The C3-01 Touch and Type is slimmer than the C3-00 model, making it easier to grip with one hand.

Users have the luxury of switching from one input method to another, whether via touch command or through the alphanumeric keypad.

It has excellent radio and music applications. The playback time runs up to 20 hours as well

The classic and familiar design of the smartphone makes it very easy for users to figure out how to make it work.

It is integrated with social networking support that allows users to stay connected and in touch with their social and media sharing accounts.

Cons

The operating system of C3-01, S40 OS, is outdated, especially with the debut of the most recent Symbian^3 in other new Nokia models.

There are no document viewing programs like Word or PDF reader (which could also explain the alphanumeric keypad instead of the C3’s QWERTY keypad).

Its social networking integration is limited to twitter and Facebook only.

Its camera, while good enough, could have been better considering it is a smartphone.

Summary

The C3-01 Touch and Type is uncomplicated and easy to handle, something that is priceless in a smartphone. This model is ideal for people who want to experience touch by command without the burden of bulkier phones with sliding keyboard compartments.

It primarily offers a wide range of entertainment for users. It is not as useful to businessmen as the N8 or other smartphones that support document viewing. Still, it is packed with excellent features that will be greatly appreciated by the more casual crowd. With its body designed for one-handed operation, the C3-01 gives relief to the people who do not want to be bothered with side sliding and QWERTY keyboards (whether onscreen or built-in).
