Nokia N96

Nokia N96

The Nokia N96 is the successor of the Nokia N95, which was the first Nokia smartphone that featured the connectivity trio of HSPDA, Wi-Fi, and GPS. Where the N95 came out big and large, the Nokia N96 was released slightly slimmer and packing improvements and functionality.

Starting the feature smorgasbord of the Nokia N96 would be the 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Tassar lens, and autofocus features which takes solid photographs and good video recordings of happy and breathtaking memories.

Performance-wise, it is slightly faster than its predecessor due to its upgrades to the S60 OS which makes navigation a little easier and less prone to lagging. Its internal memory is also increased by twice making it carry 16GB of data, that’s about the size of a complete album. With the increase in memory and processor aspects, it can now carry video streaming accelerators that can support video bit rates above 1.5 Mbps while conserving battery power essential for other uses.

The Nokia N96 also integrates 3G video calling capabilities through a camera placed subtly in front of the phone, just above the keyboard. This would allow the user to use the video calling features as well as the rest of the phone features with ease and usability.

Travelers would be glad to know that the Nokia N96 has an incorporated Web browser that has flash and adobe compatibility as well as a mini-maps feature that is handy for professionals on the road. The web browser is compatible with Javascript and HTML codes which make it a good investment for persons on the go.

Of course, travelers would be often times weary of business and turn to entertainment. The Nokia N96 does that with its built-in music player that features an FM radio that boasts of an RDS feature that allows users to view music information of the song they are listening to. Add the huge internal memory that could fit around 3,500 songs, and Nokia N96 is definitely going to entertain the masses.

In addition to the highlights mentioned above, the Nokia N96 also integrates the DVB-H live TV broadcasting feature. This feature will allow the user to watch TV broadcastings while on the go and access videos within the browser. Aussie customers would be glad to know that the phone manufacturer has struck a deal with BBC worldwide to include one complete BBC-TV series with every new purchase of the Nokia N96.
