Nokia N85

Nokia N85

Just recently, Nokia has made available to the market the newest phone from the N Series – the Nokia N85.

Like its predecessors, the Nokia N95 and the N96, the Nokia N85 flaunts a very attractive shell. Compared to the N95 or the N96, the N85 has seen little revisions in terms of looks. Practically there is not much to contemplate there. One might even see it as the same old sliding phone with a different number.

But what makes this mobile phone a cut above the rest of the mobile phones of the N Series, is that the Nokia N85 has been fitted with features that push the bar of high-end mobile phones a notch higher.

The Nokia N85 is a tad smaller and if one holds it in his hands, the phone’s curved edges help solidify that impression. People who have used an N95 or N96 will immediately notice the big difference in the feel once they got an N85 in their hands – and there will be no need to measure the N85’s dimensions to confirm.

The screen is also a strong point for the Nokia N85. The N85’s 2.1 inch QVGA screen is using OLED panel for better screen display and at the same time chomps little power from the mobile phone’s battery. As for the display itself, the Nokia N85 parades a bright showing of colors. The light sensor also made a positive impact on the display – the sensor automatically adjusts the screen’s display to the immediate light conditions surrounding the phone.

Users might have some little degree of adjusting to the Nokia N85’s charging port. Unlike previous models, the Nokia N85 does not have the 2mm charging port. Instead, it charges using a micro-USB connection. The same USB port is also used when syncing the mobile handset with a personal computer unit, using a different adapter of course. Sharing the USB port’s spot at the top edge of the Nokia N85 are the power button and the 3.5mm audio output jack.

Functionality is one aspect that elevates the Nokia N85. The Nokia N85 is a great phone for people who love to communicate, whether by voice or digital messages. This mobile handset can generate a talk time of almost seven hours. Apart from SMS and MMS, the Nokia N85 can also send and receive emails and instant messages.

The handset’s primary 5-mega pixel camera is rigged with flash option, Carl Zeiss optics, and autofocus for crisp still images. Its video’s VGA 3fps can produce clearer video clips unheard of from other handsets. Nokia N85’s secondary camera (front) is no slouch either, which can produce and maintain great imagery for any videocall session.
Here is a list of other useful features of the Nokia N85 that make it a great phone for the modern individual:

  • Phonebook capacity is practically unlimited
  • The handset has a 2.0 WAP browser for Internet connection
  • Bluetooth connectivity is a breeze with the Nokia N85
  • Built-in GPS receiver and transmitter
  • MP3 player / FM tuner
  • T9.
A stylish mobile phone packed with useful features, the Nokia N85 is the ultimate fusion of function and fashion, making it a phone everyone should consider getting.
