Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte

Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte

Evidenced by Nokia’s successful N Series, the Finland-based mobile communications giant has done it again. In its pursuit of going beyond ordinary designs and creating the benchmark when it comes to looks and performance, Nokia presents the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte.

Launched on August 18, 2008, Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte adds yet another premium model to their growing list of sleek and aesthetically beautiful mobile phones. Encased in a housing made of carbon fiber, titanium, polished glass and stainless steel, the Nokia 8800 Arte does not only have the looks to flaunt – it also has the features needed in a person’s daily grind.

Designed for individuals who want their mobile phones to deliver optimum performance yet still look good, the Nokia 8800 Arte has 3G capabilities. However, some little details of this mobile phone efficiently negate the somewhat beautiful 8800 Nokia. The phone’s keypad is pretty much small even for people with small hands. The battery life is also a point of concern, as the 8800 Nokia Carbon Arte can only conjure a total of 180 minutes of talk time and a registered standby time of 192 hours. It also weighs around 150 grams, which is, by today’s standards, quite heavy.

On the positive side, the Nokia 8800 Arte Carbon has some strong performing features. The 1.7 inch, 18-bit LCD screen is bright, boasting a display of 62,000 vibrant colors and coupled with a 208x208-pixel resolution. In contrast to other leading mobile phones, the screen and display of the Nokia 8800 Arte are still visible under sunlight.

Bluetooth connectivity is also excellent. Apart from going wireless, anyone can easily stream music with the Nokia 8800’s Bluetooth capability without much glitch. For those who are hooked to their phones even while driving, they can have their cars installed with Nokia 8800 Arte’s Bluetooth car kits for hands-free communication when manning the wheel.

The camera is also a cause for celebration. The Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte uses a 3.15 mega pixel camera with autofocus and video’s VGA at 15fps. The 8800 Nokia’s built-in 4GB memory allows users to fully maximize the phone’s memory dependent-features like the music and video player and store up to 1000 personal contacts and speaking of music, the Nokia 8800 Arte can also tune in its users favorite radio station via the FM Radio feature.

The Nokia 8800 Arte’s messaging capabilities will definitely be loved by people who make most of such feature. Aside from the basic SMS and MMS, the phone’s 2.0 WAP browser offers smooth Internet connectivity and allows users to send instant messages and emails (SMTP, POP3, and IMAP4) as well as check the latest happenings via the Web. Since the Nokia 8800’s WAP wireless browser is compatible with EDGE speeds, users can expect smooth and fast connection to the mobile Internet.

Regardless of some flaws tagging along for the ride, the 8800 Nokia Carbon Arte’s fully functional features and stylishly-finished exterior details managed to dwarf its imperfections and come out as a beautiful yet handy mobile gadget.
