Nintendo wii Game Console

Nintendo wii Game Console

Seven years in the making, the Nintendo Wii console finally hit the shelves in 2006. But with so much demand for the gaming console, one can deduce that Nintendo Wii is no doubt a great route towards entertainment.

The Nintendo Wii does not lag behind in terms of graphics with the other companies’ gaming models, but while theirs flaunted impressive detailing on gaming graphics, the Nintendo Wii does not offer the same level. That being said, the Nintendo Wii Console’s graphics are not mediocre to say the least.

The fifth of its line and the immediate successor of the Nintendo GameCube, Nintendo Wii console deviates from the conventions and gaming norms with its revolutionary remote controller, the single technological innovation that rocketed Nintendo Wii’s rise in sales and made it a household name among gamers.

Nintendo knew that it was facing formidable oppositions in the face of other gaming consoles, but risking the game with a bold move sealed it for the Nintendo Wii console. While others still toy with the conventional gaming pads, the latest Nintendo console gets the game going with a stick controller that resembles a remote more than a game pad.
Like mentioned earlier, the wireless, remote-looking game controller of the Nintendo Wii clinched it for Nintendo. The Nintendo Wii console game controller is actually two technologies at work – motion sensing and accelerometer and optical technologies. The said technologies enable the Wii remote controller to function more than a game pad and mimic gaming actions such as sword slashing and gun fighting.

The only problem with the Wii gaming controller is its battery life. The device chugs too much power in a short span of time, unlikely of its wired counterparts. For starters, getting used to the wireless Nintendo Wii controller may take some time. Also, there are some games that require the use of additional or specially-made controllers for a more in-game experience. That means added cost, of course.

As for the console itself, the Nintendo Wii has its strengths and weaknesses. The item itself is lightweight, perhaps one of the lightest gaming consoles around. While Nintendo promotes the Wii posed in a vertical position, the console can be laid down horizontally as this will not affect the quality of gameplay.

The built-in WiFi allows the Nintendo Wii console to bring online services and gameplay. As for the games, the console has a slot for Wii discs, which measure to 12cm in diameter. In addition, the Nintendo Wii console is also compatible with old GameCube titles (8 cm), which exudes a nostalgic appeal for hardcore GameCube gamers.

The console has a built-in 512 MB for storing purposes, with an additional memory slot that supports most SD cards, which is not seen in other gaming consoles.

Setting up the Wii is a breeze even for first-time gamers. With only five ports at the back and the handy instructions manual, wireless fun is attainable in no time. Another great feature if the Nintendo Wii console is the inclusion of the Wii Sports, a collection of sports game that is fun, engaging, and interactive.

The downside of the console is that it can’t play DVDs and CDs, which is very allowable in a certain game console. However, the Nintendo Wii is an impressive gaming gadget that really pulls people in and let them enjoy the experience, despite some fundamental and significant flaws.
