iPhone 5 features were not so much of a secret due to the leaks circulating and were the center of debates, discussion and speculation before the launce even happened. More so, different smart phones were introduced as ideal alternatives over this chic phone. Consequently, smart phone manufacturers are making a comeback and is innovating the features of their prided smart phones. Apart from the formidable Apple’s latest project, there are incredible smart phones released more than worthy of a second glance. Some were already out in the market while others will hit the store next year.
Take for example the BlackBerry 10 (promises January 2013 release). To stir curiosity and anticipation, the Chief Executive of RIM (Research on Motion) Thorsten Heins gave viewers a glimpse of its latest project, BlackBerry 10 Aristo.
BlackBerry 10 (promises January 2013 release) is said to have 4.65 inch display having a 720×1280 resolution. Aristo will be the thinnest BlackBerry that settles at 8.85mm. It has a swappable microSD slot that can serve up to 16GB. BB 10 is a quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm APQ8064 Krait processor with a magnificently 2GB RAM.
Picture aficionados may celebrate with Aristo’s 8MP camera at the back and a 2MP in front. Just like iPhone 5, it will have LTE (Long Term Evolution) Connectivity. BlackBerry 10 (promises January 2013 release) is just full packed with features such as WiFi, microUSB. Among its notable features is its “flow” and “Peek” feature where one can access features without closing an open application.
RIM has already asked for BlackBerry 10 applications from developers before the launch. In line with that, developers who will have their apps included in the launch will get a Limited BB 10 device. Developers can start submitting their apps on October 10. As RIM’s strategy, they promised to top applications that sell more than $1,000, after a year, into $10,000.
QNX-based mobile OS that is believed to be smooth will power Aristo with RIM aiming to be the third best mobile OS with the iOS and Android powered smart phones in the market. As of this writing, RIM will have January as the launch date, not sharing the exact date.
